The Flash is holding onto its main woman, now that unique forged member Candice Patton has inked a deal to proceed on as intrepid journalist Iris West-Allen for Season 9.
Patton has been with what’s now the longest-running Arrowverse sequence since its October 2014 launch. However this spring, after main man Grant Gustin closed his personal deal that paved the best way for the CW sequence’ Season 9 renewal, she did point out on her Instagram account that her personal future with the present was in flux.
“Not fairly certain. TBD,” she informed one inquiring fan throughout an early-April Instagram AMA. “Someday at a time.” Then, on the night of April 27, Patton shared a brief video of her eradicating her make-up in her trailer, with the caption, “THAT’S A WRAP ON IRIS WEST-ALLEN” — that means, she was finished filming for, no less than, the season. A subsequent video confirmed her closing the door to her trailer, which has her “Iris” identify tag on the door.
Patton’s resolution to remain leaves her, Gustin and Danielle Panabaker because the sequence’ remaining OG forged members. Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanagh, who performed Cisco and one Wells or one other, introduced their exits as sequence regulars in Could 2021, whereas on April 13 of this 12 months it was reported that Jesse L. Martin was additionally stepping down as a sequence common, as Joe West.
The Flash‘s forged through the years has since added Danielle Nicolet as Cecile, Brandon McKnight as Chester and Kayla Compton as Allegra.

Out of the 19 dramas that The CW has aired this TV season, it ranks No. 4 in complete viewers and ties Superman & Lois for second within the demo (behind All American).
The Season 8 finale is about to air this Wednesday, June 29.
