A British comic was left floored after discovering a joke he made at his stand-up gig was being investigated by police.
Joe Lycett expressed his shock on Instagram upon realising an viewers member at his current present was so offended by his joke, they filed a report with the police.
“So somebody got here to my tour present a number of weeks again and was offended by one of many jokes. And their completely comprehensible response to this was… to name the f—ing police,” Lycett wrote on the platform.

The 33-year-old mentioned that whereas police have been “very good” to him, they nonetheless wanted to observe by with the investigation. Lycett then needed to give an announcement and element the joke he made, which was seemingly about animal genitalia.
“To be honest to them the fuzz have been very good about all of it however felt they’d an obligation to research,” he defined. “This concerned me writing an announcement explaining the context of the joke for them; I significantly loved placing the phrases ‘large donkey d–k’ right into a message to a police detective.”

Lycett was happy to know that the investigation has since closed, and he shared a screenshot of the police’s e-mail confirming this on Instagram.
“Charmed, and hopefully amused, the rozzers have since closed the matter,” the comic concluded. “You may be happy to know that the joke – which I take into account to be probably the greatest I’ve ever written – stays firmly and proudly within the present. The tour continues till September, except I’m jailed.”
