Nicki Minaj, Maluma and Myriam Fares’ 2022 FIFA World Cup music “Tukoh Taka” has topped this week’s new music ballot.
Music followers voted in a ballot printed Friday (Nov. 18) on Billboard, selecting the trio’s infectious and celebratory monitor as their favourite new music launch of the previous week.
“Tukoh Taka” beat out new music by Brockhampton (The Household and TM), Pharrell Williams and Travis Scott (“Down In Atlanta”), Saweetie (The Single Life EP), Disturbed (Divisive), and others.
The frenetic single — produced by Gordo, Play-N-Skillz and Massari — is the “Official FIFA Fan Competition Anthem” and makes historical past as the primary FIFA World Cup music that includes lyrics in English, Spanish and Arabic.
“I’m so pleased to be a part of this FIFA World Cup anthem! I at all times dreamt of a chance like this,” Maluma mentioned in an announcement. “Representing Latin music on this world monitor alongside superb artists that sing in English and Arabic, takes our tradition to a different degree.”
Trailing behind “Tukoh Taka” on the fan-voted ballot was the “different” class, with 35% of the vote. Inserting third was Brockhampton’s closing album, The Household, and shock follow-up, TM, with 10% of the vote.
